W. Elorda’s Snapshots: Pittsburgh Zoo & Aquarium – 10th June 2023

10th June 2023: Pittsburgh Zoo & Aquarium

Hello everyone!

How is your day going? What are you getting up to?

It’s been a while since I’ve posted a Snapshots post, my last being from the end of April. I’m looking forward to changing that as we head into summer. I have lots of plans, so I should be able to provide more posts like this one!

In this post, I will share some of the photos I took during a trip to the Pittsburgh Zoo & Aquarium! It’s honestly one of my favourite places to visit, even if there was a lot of people!

Let’s dive right in, shall we?

I’ll try and post these in the order that they were taken, the order you would see things as you are walking around.

Masai Giraffe.
Masai Giraffe.

I thought I would combine the first two snapshots, as they are the same animal from different angles. This cutie is one of the Masai Giraffes that the Zoo has on display! Their enclosure faces the restaurant, so I think they were watching what everyone was eating!

Siamang Enclosure

This is a photo of the Siamang enclosure. The Siamangs were inside at the time. I just think their enclosure is so pretty with the wildflowers and the cute little waterfalls. Sometimes you enjoy the scenery as much as the animals, or is that just me?

Sun Conure Mosaic

Several of the rocks in the Jungle Odyssey section of the Zoo have these adorable little mosaics on them – this one is my favourite. I love Sun Conures!

A babbling waterfall.

You can see this cute little waterfall as you walk through the Jungle Odyssey. The trickling water makes such a pleasant sound.

Brook Trout

I could spend hours in any aquarium. They are probably some of my favourite places to be. I could watch fish swim for ages, and be quite content doing so.

These cuties are Brook Trout. I love the colours on their fins and tails, also their adorable little spots!

Penguin
Sleepy Penguin

There is something about Penguins that just makes me smile. I think both of these fellows were trying to take naps, but there was just too much noise.

River Stingrays

The last photo of this post is this one, a couple of freshwater Stingrays, just chilling out. I love the patterns on these guys, you don’t see it as much in their saltwater cousins. Aren’t they pretty?

And that wraps up this snapshot post of the Pittsburgh Zoo and Aquarium. If you’re curious about them, you can check out their website here! (This post is not sponsored, I just really like the Zoo.)

Let me know, what is your favourite animal to see at the Zoo?
